  • LUNATIK Epik Officially Launches on KickStarter for Maximum Apple Watch Protection

The time has come and LUNATIK has finally officially launched its Kickstarter campaign to try and raise the funds necessary to mass-produce the Epik case for 42mm Apple Watches (of all flavors).

As we shared with you on May 2nd, the Epik is a serious tank, but not too tank-like that you're going to hate wearing it; quite the contrary. It's a beautifully-designed two-piece CnC-machined aluminum case fastened together with screws at the wrist strap mounting points. You get the choice of a silicone Sport band, or an aluminum link bracelet to match the case; moreover, you can pick between basic silver anodized aluminum, or black anodized aluminum for your case colors.

    Some pictures below:

To back the project on Kickstarter, you have to put down a minimum of $100. This is the Early Bird price and it is limited; it gets you either color case you want, and the silicone sport band. When the Early Bird special is over, you'll have to put down $125 to get the same thing. Yet another Early Bird special is offered for the higher-end Epik case that gives you an aluminum link wrist band (and a free silicone wrist band) for $125, but like the other Early Bird, this is limited and when sold out, you'll have to put down $150 to get the Epik with the aluminum & silicone wrist bands.

Kickstarter orders will start shipping out in September of 2015, so if you're interested, you should get to pre-ordering on Kickstarter right away so you can beat the initial back-order.

This has got a really nice quality look to it - especially the black one.... wish it had a smoother finish similar to the top rendering though. This is tempting.

Looks like it makes it harder to swap bands. I bet it adds a bit of heft though. My only complaint so far about the Apple Watch is that it's too light!

I still wish they would have integrated the multi band ability. I love the look of the case but for me won't work do to I bought the space grey Apple watch. And I paid 400 more for my band. Maybe they wake up and add a adapter but more likely won't
