  • Europe and China iPhone Marketshare Increases During March Quarter

According to research firm Kantar Worldpanel, iPhone adoption has been up worldwide during the March quarter. The report noted that a lot of people were switching over from the Android platform in Europe. Specifically, the report noted that there was a 3.1% decline year-over-year in Android sales even though there are more Android users overall in Germany, France, Great Britain, Spain, and Italy which has a 68.4% share. Apple on the other hand has increased 1.8 points to a 20.3% share. Interestingly enough, Kantar Worldpanel found that a total of 32.4% of iPhone purchasers were switching over from Android.

Another great market for Apple was China- it noted that iPhone share has increased from 17.9% to 26.1%, although Android devices dominate the country with 72% . Like previous rumors, Kantar stated that more iPhone volume is being generated in China than in the U.S. Apple is definitely growing in China as more and more are choosing to purchase the iPhone and iPads. When the iPhone 6/6 Plus launched in the U.S., people in China were sneaking the device in Twinkie boxes and selling it for much more because it had such high demand.
