  • Apple is No Longer Signing iOS 8.2

At the beginning of March, Apple released iOS 8.2 to the public to allow initial support for the Apple Watch despite its unavailability at the time. Apple soon followed with an iOS 8.3 update, which brought with it a large number of bug fixes and stability improvements. With iOS 8.3 being the latest and most current iOS release, Apple has officially stopped signing iOS 8.2 on Monday.

What this means is that there is no longer a way for users to downgrade to iOS 8.2 from a later iOS firmware or to restore to a factory-fresh copy of iOS 8.2 on their device because iTunes will throw errors when you attempt to do so. Instead, iTunes will want you to upgrade to iOS 8.3.

This isn't much of a big deal for jailbreakers because jailbreakers are still stuck on iOS 8.1.2 due to the lack of a jailbreak for any of the latest iOS firmwares. To see if a firmware you want to restore to is being signed, you can use this Web site, which was created by iOS developers from our own jailbreak community.

Apple is working on releasing iOS 8.4 to the public soon, and it is already in its beta stages with a redesigned Music application for iOS. Video evidence shows that iOS 8.4 beta is jailbreakable, but no public jailbreak has been released for iOS 8.4 beta and no other news about a jailbreak for iOS 8.4 has yet surfaced.

Isn't iOS 9 still in the works and supposed to let older devices run faster?

Lost jb due to a warranty issue. Sad. But just updated to 8.3 from 8.2 and battery life is so much better. Seems quicker as well. Now I wait [emoji17]
