  • NBC Sports Live Extra Channel Comes to Apple TV

NBC Sports Live Extra has been added to the Apple TV recently and the current NHL playoffs as well as this week’s 141st Kentucky Derby will both be available on the new channel. Similar to the iPad app, the Apple TV also has sports event clips and videos. Those who have the Apple TV will be able to gain access to highlights from past events, previews of upcoming events, and video clips. Live NBC Sports replays and events will also be available on the channel.

Not only is NBC home of both the Triple Crown and NHL but when NFL season rolls around, the television network will be hosting Sunday Night Football as well. It is also home of NASCAR’s Sprint Cup Series and the golf PGA TOUR too. This means that Apple TV owners will definitely have a lot in store for them if they’re sports fanatics. According to NBC,

In addition to the Stanley Cup Playoffs and Triple Crown, Live Extra streams all live sports content televised by NBC, NBCSN and Golf Channel, including: the Summer and Winter Olympics; Sunday Night Football and NBC's NFL pre-season and post-season coverage; NHL regular-season games; the PGA TOUR, including the FedExCup Playoffs, and the LPGA; the Premier League; studio content surrounding many of the aforementioned properties; original programming such as The Dan Patrick Show and Men In Blazers; and much more.
In order to view live content, you will have to have cable subscription and authentication to log in.
