  • Addial Dialer Jailbreak Tweak Makes its Way to Notification Center in iOS 8 via the App Store

Addial, a popular jailbreak extension for Notification Center and Control Center that has been available in Cydia for a very long time thanks to iOS developer Raviraj Minawala, has officially made it to the App Store in the form of an iOS 8 Notification Center Today tab Widget.

It's interesting to see things like this come to the App Store after being in the Cydia Store for so long. Yesterday, we showed you a new application called Favorite Contacts Launcher that also was derived from a jailbreak tweak.

The Addial Dialer allows you to dial phone numbers directly from your Notification Center interface. It adds a number pad directly to Notification Center in the form of a widget, as shown above. After dialing a number, you can either tap on the phone button to call the number, or you can tap on the message bubble button to iMessage/text message the number.

Moreover, there is a "+" button to the left of the "0" button in the keypad that allows you to add new contacts to your contact list.

Minawala has also hinted on Twitter that you can tap and hold on the number "1" on the keypad to copy the phone number to the iOS clipboard, which might be helpful if you're trying to add the phone number to a contact or create a new contact in iOS.

If you want to give Addial for iOS 8 a try, it's available in the App Store for 99 at this link.

I'm not jailbroken anymore so CallBar isn't an option for me . Unfortunately, none of these bypass the Lockscreen passcode so they're still not as useful as I'd like.

It blocks ads for most things on Safari. It worx inside other apps, too, but I'll sometimes get YouTube problems where it says it can't play a video but if I continually hit retry, then it'll play.

The ‘Dial Phone’ pops out the number pad and a text field so you can type in the number and dial it. No, it doesn’t let you choose contacts – you’ve got to type a number. It’s specifically designed for this purpose although we’d definitely like to see if there’s an auto-prompt-like feature when you type a few numbers / may be, by extension, the first few letters of a name.

The ‘Add Contact’ is basically a shortcut to the Add New Contact screen within the Phone app. Nifty if you keep adding a lot of contacts, but not so if you’re going to be adding a new contact once in a while.
