  • Apple's New Spaceship Campus May Be Named for Steve Jobs

An in-depth new report from Fortune takes a good look at the leadership of Tim Cook, Apple's CEO who had some of the biggest shoes in all of technology to fill when he replaced Steve Jobs at the helm of Apple four years ago this August.

In the piece, which regards Cook as a capable and qualified leader who has achieved wondrous things for Apple during his short time as CEO, Cook is portrayed as a steady, confident leader who is deeply immersed in the history and potential future of Apple as he leads the company.

"Remarkably, Cook has come into his own as a high-profile leader of Apple, not merely tolerating the spotlight but leaning into it to focus attention on issues of importance to him and his company," the report notes.

But by no means does Cook now see Apple as a one-man show. In every decision he makes, Cook suggests, the big picture of Apple and its rich history are taken into consideration. Consequently, it should come as no surprise that new "spaceship" campus being constructed as we speak may be named in honor of Steve Jobs.

"Some naming element of the buildings or the entire locale will almost certainly include an homage to Jobs, depending on his family’s wishes, says Cook," the report reads.

Why is this campus constantly being called or compared to a spaceship when, if anything, it looks so much more like a space station?

Like the super-gate the Ori built (which would be consistent with the sheer size as well as the lack of chevrons.)
