  • AAA Foundation Releases Video Clips of Teen Driver Crashes While On Smartphones

We all know that texting and driving has become a huge issue as smartphones have become more popular. The AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety has recently released real video clips of teenage drivers from the ages of 16-19 using their smartphones behind wheels during the day and night. The clips of car crashes shown have both the view of what the road looks like while texting and of the driver.

Although there are no injuries involved in the video clips, you can definitely see the distractions and dangers of taking your eyes off the road to text. There are approximately 3,000 cases a year involving people between the ages of 16-19 getting killed in a car crash, from being “inattentive or engaged in some other non-driving-related activity.”

Driving while texting is not only dangerous for the person behind the wheel, but for others on the road as well. Take a look at the video the AAA Foundation provided below.

So AAA told these teens that hey we are installing one camera inside and one outside your car. Go drive around. And they still were using their phones knowing they got cameras in their cars???
