  • Major Golf Tournament Swings into Apple Pay

You could almost say that Apple Pay is really getting into the swing of things. In fact, that's exactly what you can say today.

On Wednesday, Mastercard announced that spectators at the Arnold Palmer Invitational (Presented by MasterCard) will have access to the latest, hottest mobile payments technology -- including Apple Pay.

The Arnold Palmer Invitational begins Thursday, March 19th.

MasterCard says that, working in conjunction with the PGA TOUR, they first debuted contactless payment acceptance at the Waste Management Phoenix Open in January, which let spectators use mobile payments platforms like Apple Pay for the first time at a TOUR event.

Now these usage opportunities are spreading like wildfire across the PGA universe. And it all spells one outcome for Apple -- a hole in one.
