  • Apple Watch to have 18 hours of Battery Life On One Single Charge

For those interested in the Apple Watch and didn't get a chance to watch Apple’s ‘Spring Forward’ event, information regarding the wearable device’s battery life is now on the company’s website. The Cupertino-based company noted that the smartwatch will get 18 hours of life on a single charge with mixed usage. On Power Reserve mode, the company noted that it would last as long as 72 hours.

Apple also claimed that the device has 6.5 hours of battery life for Bluetooth audio playback, 3 hours battery life for talk time, as much as 48 hours of timekeeping, and up to 7 hours for a workout session using the heart rate sensor. As for charging time, the wearable device will take 1.5 hours to charge from 0-80% and 2.5 hours to charge from 0-100% with the MagSafe inductive charger.

Testing was apparently done in March with a 38mm device that was in pre-production while paired with Apple’s iPhone. The company claimed that battery life will be longer with the 42mm Apple Watch. Will you be ordering an Apple Watch? How excited are you for it? Share with us in the comments below.

The prices they're charging for the stainless steel link band is ridiculous. Sport edition for me I guess.

I have stainless steel band on my Tag Heuer, to replace this it will cost $400+ just for the band itself.
they do scratch, but you can polish it up so it is shiny again which cost $100+...

I will not get an iWatch, already got a great looking time piece.

I want one but feel apple is now catering to the rich... I was looking at the Apple Store thinking I was viewing the prices for the watch.. Little did I know I was simply browsing the accessory section and seeing $400 bands for the watch. Sheezus! I can't believe the gold version is $10-18k!!! Really?! For a watch that will be obsolete in 8-10 months when the next version is released?! Damn. I'm impressed with the watch but disappointed in apple for the pricing of accessories and the watch in general. If I get on I'm going sports edition and buying bands from aftermarket vendors I guess.

      Exactly my thoughts.

Apple Watch Sport: normal human being

Apple Watch Collection: a little more disposable income and/or have a need to look nice.

Apple Watch Edition: I like to throw money at things. Because I can.

18 hours.... HAHAHAHAHA Is that a joke? My Gear 2 neo lasts 4 days without a charge and this new iwatch cant even last 1 day.
Does this even have a touchscreen? I heard they didn't have a touchscreen in the iwatch but I'm not interested in going through all the crap just to find out that little detail.
I'm not getting one anyway as I got my Gear 2 neo for $120 so its heaps cheaper, lasts longer and from what I hear its just completely better.

So you don't even know if Apple Watch has a touch screen, but "from what [you] hear" the Gear 2 is "completely better."

      Ok.

My Timex Ironman last 4 years without having to deal with any power source. When the battery finally dies, I toss it and buy a new one.

      Ok.
I own the Gear 2 and its got a battery life of 4 days so its already 4x better then the iwatch's 18 hours.
I didn't know if its got a touchscreen or not as I read 2 days ago on a news site that Apple were saying to extend the battery life they were thinking of not having a touchscreen on the watch. As the article was 2 days before release it didn't say if the iwatch was coming with a touchscreen or not and I'm not intereted in one so I didn't and still dont know if its got a touchscreen or not. I did hear the battery life (LOL) of 18 hours and the stupid prices. It made me laugh so I stopped reading before I pissed myself over more funny stupid things its got.
