  • Apple's New Music Streaming Service Rumored to Launch During 2015 WWDC

TechCrunch and 9to5Mac have recently reported that Apple will be launching a revamped music streaming service at the annual Worldwide Developers Conference. WWDC will take place the week of June 8th, but as of right now these are just rumors. An official announcement has yet to be made and these reports have yet to be confirmed.

Apple currently plans to launch the new music service as part of an iOS 8.4 upgrade for the iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch following WWDC, but a final decision has not yet been made. It’s possible that the service will be bundled into iOS 9 this fall, which is expected to have a significant focus on bug fixes and stability improvements.
Previous reports noted that the streaming service would cost approximately $7.99 a month. This pricing is cheaper than competitors such as Rdio, Spotify, and Google Play Music. Previous rumors also stated that Apple’s new streaming service would be incorporated with the company-owned Beats Music service. The music service will be accessible with Apple’s iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad.

We also reported recently that Apple is rumored to release their new 12-inch MacBook Air during WWDC as well. It seems like multiple products will be introduced at this year’s event, but all have been rumors so far with no confirmation yet. However, we will definitely keep everyone updated with any new information or details.
