  • Google's Inbox by Gmail App for iOS Has Been Updated With a Native iPad Version

Google has updated its Inbox by Gmail application on the iOS platform on Thursday to version 1.2.

The main highlight in this update is that the application now comes with a native iPad version, officially making it a universal binary application that can be used on the iPhone, iPod touch, or iPad while taking full advantage of the canvas space of any device that it's installed on, whether big or small.

Apart from this, Google notes some bug fixes and performance improvements that will enhance the user experience and application stability in this version of the application.

Existing users of the Inbox by Gmail application for iOS will find this update under the Updates tab in the App Store application; if you have automatic updates enabled in iOS 8, then the update will be installed for you automatically. Alternatively, both new and existing users can download the latest version of Inbox by Gmail manually for free from this App Store link.

Inbox by Gmail still requires an invite to use, but you can easily request one by downloading the application or visiting the Web site. Google recently pulled its Sparrow e-mail client from Apple's iOS and Mac App Stores to focus its development solely on the Inbox by Gmail application for all platforms.
