  • Apple Hires Tech Journalist Chris Breen of Macworld to Take On an Unannounced Role

Roughly five months after the folks over at Macworld shipped their last print magazine, the senior editor and Mac guru, Chris Breen recently announced that he will soon be leaving his post at the publication to take an unannounced role at Apple. Breen revealed his decision to leave the magazine recently in the “Mac 911” column stating the following:

After decades of offering advice to Apple users in the pages of MacUser and then Macworld, I'm making a career change and heading off to a fruit-flavored tech company sandwiched between Santa Clara and Sunnyvale.
During his time at Macworld, Breen created a large number of “how to” pieces, product reviews, columns and more, many of which focused on Apple’s Mac ecosystem. He also played a big role in the publication’s podcast and weekly video series. Breen took to his personal website to thank the people who helped him during his time as a journalist.

The most interesting thing about the piece of news is that the move marks another Apple hire which was snagged from the blogger and Apple-focused publication pool. The previous hire that fit this category was AnandTech’s Anand Shimpi who ended up joining the publication last year. This may be indicating that Apple plans on implementing something blog or news related in the future. We’ll have to wait and see what Apple has in store with these hires.
