Last week, Apple reported record earnings on unbelievably strong product sales, including nearly 75 million iPhones. But despite the slowing momentum that followed the holiday shopping season, don't look for Apple to have a bad follow-up March quarter.

Although Apple won't duplicate its record-smashing iPhone sales success, it won't be a bad quarter by any means. In fact, according to the latest reports out of the far east, the first three months of 2015 could be very promising for Apple indeed.

"Shipments of iPhone devices are expected to top 50 million units in the first quarter of 2015, increasing 14.4% from 43.7 million units shipped in the year earlier period," reports Digitimes, citing sources who are said to be knowledgeable about what's taking place in the supply chain today.

Fueling this growth will be significant sustained interest from consumers in China. Apple's iPhone has finally emerged as a breakout star in the Chinese smartphone market and by no means is the iPhone sales boom limited to China. Overall, today's report notes, the "ratio of Asia-Pacific sales to Apple's total sales is expected to continue to rise" as the year progresses.
