  • 'ProCam 2' Has Been Crowned the iOS App Store's App of the Week This Week

Apple has followed its ritualistic practice of naming a new iOS App Store App of the Week each Thursday by choosing ProCam 2 to take the crown this week. In case you missed it, last week's pick was a Tetris-like puzzle game called Shades.

ProCam 2, as you've probably deduced already, is a photography and videography application; but it's not just a photography and videography application, it's a fully-packed photography and videography application that compares to the popular Camera+ application in terms of the amount of features that it has to offer.

ProCam 2 offers all of the following goodies (bear with us, it's a very extensive list):

I have a few of these cam apps but always use the native app for photos. It's fast and easy. And a photo is good or not because of composition and lighting, not camera gizmos or post filtering.

While I share your sentiment in part, this is not for us. Rather, these apps are for people who want to play with their photos and create more thoughtful photos through greater camera functionality. Although, in the stock app's postproduction I was able to quite quickly and easily make some fine adjustments to correct white balance and color; I was quite pleased with Apple's more advanced editing tools.

Camera plus is my go to app. As previous poster said I've also tried a few but I find camera plus the best. Fast with great editing options.

Does this app take forever for anyone else to start up and switch between options?

It can take anywhere from 6 - 20 seconds before I can take a pic. The switching btw Video and Cam is a few seconds and black fading screens. WTH?

Also, I get delays when trying to take the pic. I'll hit the button twice and then it takes two pics 3 seconds later.

I have over 12k pictures on my phone...wondering if it's constantly reading the pics DB while operating. IDK.

Crap app for me so far.
