  • Apple Projected to Report $67B Quarter in Today's Earnings Announcement

Following the close of trading on Wall Street this afternoon, Apple will report earnings for the fourth quarter of 2014 (Apple's Q1 of 2015).

This morning, ahead of Apple's report, Thomson Reuters announced the poll results of its final pre-Apple earnings report survey among Wall Street and financial analysts. According to the consensus estimates of the 40 analysts polled, Apple is projected to report a December quarter that brought in $67.69 billion in revenue.

Throughout the month of January, iPhone sales estimates have been all over the map, with low estimates coming in at around 60 million units for the holiday quarter, while more lofty expectations put Apple on pace to have sold north of 70 million iPhones last quarter.

The real blockbuster numbers, however, as MMi reported yesterday, may come in the form of Apple's guidance for its next quarter's earnings report. Holiday quarter numbers aside, where Apple's historically conservative projections are directed could do wonders to keep a sustained fire lit under the already momentum-driven Apple stock over the coming weeks and months.

MMi will provide coverage of today's earnings report once the numbers are published.
