  • Apple Pay to Expand Internationally With the First Country Being Canada

Ever since Apple launched Apple Pay back in October, it was limited to just iPhone 6 and 6 Plus owners residing in the U.S. It has been reported however, that the Cupertino-based company is looking to expand the successful mobile payment system internationally, with the first being Canada. According to 9to5Mac, Apple Pay may be arriving in Canada as early as March of this year. The company is apparently in talks with Canadian partners of the upcoming plan and is already deciding on different types of promotions for the payment system. 9to5Mac states,

Apple and Canadian launch partners are in the process of planning advertising and other promotional material for March, which indicates that the launch could come as soon as then. Of course, these are still active discussions and itís possible the talks could fail to result in a launch by March. Several sources, however, tell us Apple is currently targeting that timeframe.
In the last few months, rumors about Apple planning on taking Apple Pay internationally have been circulating the web. But the company had not made any comments regarding the matter. Even now, Apple has yet to make any announcement about taking the payment system abroad. The Apple Watch is also supposed to launch in March of this month according to many reports. So it seems like the Cupertino-based company has many plans and will be very busy in the upcoming months.
