  • Apple CEO Tim Cook Makes Surprise Visit to Apple Retail Store in Georgetown

It was World AIDS Day on Monday, December 1st and we reported that Apple had changed their iconic white apple logo in front of all retail stores to show their support for it. However, as a surprise, Apple CEO Tim Cook and (RED) exec Deborah Dugan made an appearance at an Apple Retail Store in Georgetown Washington, D. C. Their surprise visit was to show support for HIV and AIDS awareness. Cook took it to Twitter to show some photos him and Dugan snapped when at the retail store. The caption of the photos read "Apple stores around the world are RED today for #WorldAIDSDay.”

Dugan also tweeted a picture of her and Cook as well as with retail store employees thanking the Cupertino-based company. The caption read “Proud to spend #WorldAIDSDay with @tim_cook here at Apple Georgetown. #ThankYouApple $75MM & counting #AppleforRED.” Just last week, Apple promoted a deal for Black Friday giving away (RED) iTunes gift cards with qualifying purchases. The company also donated a portion of proceeds from in-app purchases to the campaign. Apple has been a part of (RED) for 8 years now, since 2006.
