  • Fiksu: App Store Downloads Peaked New Highs This October

This October, the iOS App Store saw the largest peak in application downloads ever according to application data from Fiksu, a marketing group for mobile devices. The new highs are very much linked to the new iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus launch, which put the device into even more users' hands.

Fiksu's data tracked iOS 7 and iOS 8 users downloading applications from the iOS App Store. The new October 2014 record raises the bar up to almost 7.8 million daily application downloads, up from just 5.5 million daily downloads in September.

This represents an increase of 42 percent since last month, and a 39 percent rise year-over-year.
As Fiksu notes, this is a 42% rise in App Store downloads in just one month.

iOS 8 was also recently released just this September, which continued the drive of application downloads. Developers have released all-new applications capable of taking advantage of the new features in iOS 8, such as HealthKit, Today Notification Center widgets, third-party keyboards, and more.
