  • Apple Pay Usage Increasing at Several Stores Including McDonald's and Walgreens

Apple’s newest mobile payment system, Apple Pay, has been pretty successful ever since it’s launch on October 20th. It accounted for 1% of Whole Food’s overall transactions and now, The New York Times has a new report on Apple Pay’s success at fast food chain McDonald’s and drugstore Walgreens. McDonald’s currently accepts the mobile payment system in all 14,000 restaurants within the U.S., and it has been reported that Apple Pay accounted for 50% of its tap-to-pay transactions. As for Walgreens, the number of mobile payment transactions doubled since accepting Apple Pay.

According to Forrester Research Analyst, Denée Carrington,

I'm not saying it's changing the landscape overnight, but this has never happened with other mobile wallets.
Because of Apple Pay, other mobile payment systems like Google Wallet and Softcard have benefited as well. Even though Google Wallet has been out for a few years now, it wasn’t really used until Apple’s payment system was rolled out. Softcard is a payment system supported by AT&T, Verizon, and T-Mobile, which also saw an increase in users.

Have you used Apple Pay yet? What do you think of it? Let us know in the comments below.

Apple Pay is awesome, been using it since the day it launched. The only problem I'm having periodically is the actual Passbook app itself. Since I've jail broken my 6+, there has been issues with certain tweaks causing passbook to crash and/or my cards that I registered just disappear. And now that IntelliScreen X for iOS 8 is available, which is one of my favorite tweaks, has been causing my Passbook app to crash. Hopefully this will get fixed. Because I love Apple Pay and my jail broken phone with IntelliScreen X.
      Thanks

Haven't used it yet though I did set it up. Wish Santander would adopt Apple Pay to their MasterCard debit card.

I was having problems on my JB 6+, that's why I had to restore back to stock IOS 8. I was having problem were I couldn't unlock my device. I have to turn it off to get back to the home screen. Also Über doesn't work on JB devices.

I do find myself looking for the wifi-like logo for mobile payments...and tapping my phone at random other payment terminals just in case...

still trying to understand why this is better than just pulling out my credit/debit card and swiping...
still not sure I'm sold on the idea of an aggregator for my credit/debit cards: if one of the banks get hacked, my other cards are ok; if something happens with Apple Pay... are all of my enrolled/registered cards affected?

As soon as we surf the internet and looking for the jammer products we can see that there are various types of signal jammers that are for sale in the market now such as the mobile phone jammers, GPS jammers, wifi jammers, UHF jammers, WiFi & Bluetooth Signal Jammer, the multi-functional signal jammers and so many others kinds of signal jammers for sale as well. And what people now need to do is just select the best one according to their needs.

I have been using it on a timely basis and found very convenient. Of course my phone is stock, I'm too paranoid about the jail breakers hijacking Apple pay from a jailbroken phone.
I think it won't be long. What will be needed for that? Maybe a simple update on pangu. Who knows.

Mainly security purposes. For one, your card info it's never seen by anyone when you use apple pay. The target hack? Apple pay users would be unaffected because they don't have card info. Second all your card info is stored locally, encrypted behind your fingerprint. Even if someone steals your phone they don't get your cards because they're completely unusable unless they also chop off your finger.

A lot of apps are just randomly crashing this time around with the new jailbreak. Hopefully IntelliScreen X gets a proper update because things have been crashing even more since I installed it. I guess I just be patient until everything gets smoothed out.

Also immune to the similar Home Depot hack and if restaurants start using it, the Scummy Waiter hack. Security is the ingenious extra Apple has that Google doesn't.

My parents found out they had been subject to the scummy Walmart employee hack several years ago. Apparently upon investigation one of the cashiers had a magnetic reader under the register and would steal card info.
