  • Chitika: iPad Dominates North American Tablet Traffic

On Thursday, Chitika gave the world an update on tablet traffic across North America.

The update, while showing that Apple retains a sizable lead over Android, does indicate that the lead will likely continue to weaken as more competing devices wrangle market share away from Apple.

iPad users generated 79.9% of North American tablet-based Web traffic over the month of September 2014, today's report reads. That's down from the 81% in the same period one year ago.

"Amazon and Samsung tablets are, respectively, still the second- and third-largest sources of tablet Web usage in the U.S. and Canada after both posted slight quarter-over-quarter share drops over the study period," Chitika revealed Thursday.
