  • Pangu Jailbreak Team Releases Version 1.2 of the Windows Jailbreak Tool for iOS 8

On Tuesday, a newer version of the Pangu jailbreak tool for iOS 8 has been officially released for Windows users.

Version 1.2 of the new jailbreak tool is now available to download off of the Pangu jailbreak team's Web site. Version 1.2 of the jailbreak tool integrates all of the recent bug fixes that the Pangu untether package in Cydia has recently brought to jailbreakers, and even a little bit more. The full changelog below:

    1. Fix the issue that launchd may drain cpu on 32bit devices.

    2. Fix Safari reloading bug and occasionally crash problem.

    3. Optimize jailbreak process.

    4. Restore function now support iPad Air2/iPad Mini3.
The new update comes just four days after the most recent update to the Pangu jailbreak tool for Windows (version 1.1), which added official English language support after long only being available in Chinese, and added Cydia into the jailbreak bundle for the first time on iOS 8. Many of the bug fixes, like the CPU and battery issue on 32-bit iOS devices, and the Safari bugs, have already been fixed via updates to the untether package, which is hosted to those already jailbroken through Cydia.

The Pangu jailbreak tool for iOS 8 remains Windows-only at this point in time. A Mac OS X version of the tool is expected in the future, but as the Pangu jailbreak team has said in the past, it will only come after most of the major bugs have already been squashed in the current release of Pangu for iOS 8.

To download the latest version of Pangu (version 1.2) for Windows, you can head over to Pangu's official Web site at this link.

I think I'm going to wait for that OS X version so I can be relatively sure that the bugs are worked out

You guys need to stop waiting and jailbreak now. Apple has already patched it on their next update. I myself am jailbroken and have zero issues.

As long as you have no need to update your iOS version (8-8.1) then the jailbreak can be done anytime. No need to rush anything.

It looks like version 0.4 of the Pangu untether package includes everything that's in this 1.2 update of the Windows tool, so as long as you've already updated through Cydia you should be fine.

No need. It just includes the updated Pangu packages you already should've installed in Cydia.

Ok this new tool doesn't seem to work! It keeps preparing the environment 2/6 and it's been like that for over 30 minutes. Can anyone help?

I was stuck on that too, then read the directions about fresh restore of 8.1 and set as new (none of your apps installed), then ran the program, that worked for me, then i restored from backup

When I first attempted the jailbreak I didn't set up as new...and it saved my old jailbreak on phone
So redid it and all good now

Does anyone know a working substitution for the "bridge" tweak that works in iOS 8?
