OS X Yosemite offers a variety of new features and a completely re-designed user interface with flatter colors and window styles to bring the operating system up to speed with iOS 8.

New features in the operating system include, but aren't limited to:

    • Handoff and Continuity
    • SpotLight redesign
    • Phone calls and SMS messages
    • A new Safari experience
    • AirDrop between iOS devices and Macs
    • iCloud Drive
    • Family Sharing
    • A new Mail experience
    • And much more

For those that want to get started on the install right away, you can head over to the Mac App Store, or follow this direct link. You may want to back up your computer in its current state before installing just to be safe.
