  • Apple Reportedly No Longer Playing Nice Ball With Bose Audio Products in Retail Stores

Bose, a well-known and appreciated brand in the audio industry for its high-quality speakers and headphones, is reportedly in the midst of being taken down from the shelves of Apple's retail stores.

MacRumors reports that the changes will be happening this week, as Apple retail store associates have already been given the green light to start removing Bose accessories from the floor. The report cites a 'reliable source' that has intel on the matter.

The reasoning behind pulling the audio equipment has not been specified, although it's being assumed that it has something to do with the recent lawsuit involving an NFL player that was sued for $10,000 by the NFL for wearing Beats by Dre audio equipment; Bose now has its own agreement with the NFL.

Hopefully you didn't have any plans to pick up any Bose equipment at your local Apple Store in the near future. If you did, you might want to check out a different store for your needs.

First the NFL gives hands out $10,000 fines for using Beats, cause they signed an exclusive Bose deal. Now we have Apple taking the Bose headphones off the shelves? Getting a bit ridiculous.

While I agree that it's a bit out of hand, I do side more with Apple on this one. If Bose makes a deal that basically declares war on a company you own why keep selling their products? I would've done the same thing.

Exclusivity deals happen all the time, Apple is being immature. Apple does not allow its employees to use microsoft equipment.

And Microsoft doesn't allow the use of Apple equipment, so your argument is void.

Bose is no better or different. They also produce over priced crap. I'm sure if Bose wasn't penalizing athletes for wearing them this wouldn't of happened so blame Bose for this current situation.

Unless you count Office (I know it's not equipment. it's software).

Boss is not a quality product. It is overpriced just as Beats are. I wouldn't say they are as bad as Beats, but its nothing great either.

We have all seemed to bash either Beats or Bose. Since most here consider both inferior, what do you all consider to be a superior headphone? I have a pair of Soul headphones right now..nothing great but not horrible. I only paid $100 for them..better than $399.

Actually, no, I didn't. If Apple is being immature, so is every other company out there. Bose is immature for signing the exclusivity deal. Microsoft is immature for not allowing Apple products. McDonalds is being immature for not selling Whoppers. What part of that you don't sell or use a competitors product don't you understand.

      P.S. I use android.

LOL! The article calls the $10,000 fine a "lawsuit." It's a fine. He's not being sued. There is a relevant lawsuit though: the one regarding Bose's noise canceling patents. THAT'S what you should have mentioned!

Newsflash: it was cool to hate on Bose before it was cool to hate on Beats. They are BOTH crap. It's hilarious that people suddenly start talking about Bose as if they are higher quality when it actually just reveals that they walked in the middle of a topic they aren't qualified to discuss.

I, too, want to know what brands you all prefer for sound quality. I actually thought Bose speakers sounded pretty good lol
