  • Apple's iPad Event Likely Set for October 16th

For close to a month now, we've been hearing chatter that Apple will hold its next media event to unveil refreshed and potentially new products on or around October 21st.

If today's reports are true, however, we may not have to wait that long.

According to John Paczkowski of Re/Code, the media event in question is now likely planned for Thursday, October 16th -- nearly a week sooner than originally anticipated.

"Headlining the gathering," Paczkowski writes, will be Apple's refreshed iPad line, new iMacs, and OS X Yosemite. Could something else be planned? Although Paczkowski is expecting a more laid-back event, a number of market watchers believe Apple may still have a few more tricks in its bag before the holiday shopping season begins.

Does that mean a new Apple TV? Another product in a new product category perhaps? Or just a refreshed line-up of products we already know and mostly love? Well, we won't have to wait long to find out.
