  • New Samsung Ad Shows How Samsung Really Feels About Apple's New iPhone 6 Plus

Samsung is beginning to take notice of Apple's iPhone 6 Plus, which combined with the iPhone 6, pre-sold a record number of units from any other iPhone in the past.

Samsung's new Galaxy Note 4 ad, in summary, tells everyone, 'look who's copying now' on the premise that the iPhone has always had a smaller display than Samsung smartphones, and all of a sudden out of the woodwork, Apple introduced a larger display with its new iPhone lineup:

Samsung's ad shows how the device can productively multitask with side-by-side applications, and then proceeds to show some biased Tweets on Twitter about how the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus really aren't that great. It also illustrates how people first mocked larger smartphone displays in the past, and how people are now beginning to demand the larger displays on their smartphones.

Overall, the ad comes off with an extremely desperate tone, but take it how you will.

I just seen this. lol dang they really put it on thick. I don't know about you guys but this is getting old.

Me personally from a standpoint it's weird to think a CEO actually thinks that's a good idea.

Omg I can watch ninja turtles and look at email at the same time. But who would want too? Or I can DJ (GarageBand). That's all I seen the device could do.

+1 Also I don't care about using a stylus either. If I'm going to hand write something? I actually write a letter or a birthday card to someone.

It would seem that mud-slinging is Samsung's new advertising tactic.

      Apple had two choices:

      A. Leave their screen size and surrender sales to the competitor.

Or B. Conform to the market and continue with sales growth and leave a competitor wiping their tears.

Apple chose B, and I would too if I were a leading company trying to make money.

Like I tell people? Companies like Samsung are like ohhh look at me. They are the type that make a motor and just slap a blower on it and say oh look? Our motors make 500HP.

Where Apple would take the time and design, blue print & balance the motor. Port and polish the heads to flow more air and fuel and efficient. Use lighter materials to lessen the drag on the components and etc... to produce the same HP.

To me, Samsung is right. I don't like the bigger 5.5 inch iPhone 6 plus. But to each their own. My problem with this is that samsung is looking desperate. It used to be somewhat good marketing, and let's be honest Apple has done it too in the past (remember I'm a mac, and im a pc?), but they're on to something different now. It's hard to explain, but you can feel the jealousy from them. I think it's because the new iPhone isn't even out yet and they're already trying to make fun of it. I think it's bec those Samsung "big phone lovers" are trading theirs in for the new iPhone. Maybe I'm wrong, but the commercials are getting old.

No your right on the android users trading in there phones for the i6+ I know 4 ppl that already made the jump from an android phone to the i6+ all 4 will receive there 6+ on launch day.

As for the video I think its funny how samsungs says those you want the 6+ should thank samsung for making apple make the change but what about all the android users shouldn't they thank apple for all the android phones they have now because if it wasn't for apple joining the mobile handset business we wouldn't have the devices we all have now!

Smear campaigns like this normally mean that they are threatened. And rightly so - nobody stands in line for Samsung products. The iPhone 6 Plus will probably sell more units than the Samsung G Note 4. And the iPhone 6 will probably sell more than any SINGLE smartphone on the market this year.

Screen size was one of the biggest selling points of the Android platform, and now Apple has entered the standard 720p and phablet niches.

I saw this commercial. If the intent is to persuade Apple fans towards Samsung, I can tell you that it doesn't work. It looks more of a sign of desperation by Samsung.

For most Apple fans, it's not about the hardware, it's all about the software. I don't think Samsung will ever get that!

Samsung is really immature. Sorry but Apple is not copying the exact design of the phone. They are just increasing the size. Samsung is just trying to be a big bully because they cant seem to break Apple. Sad as a competitor, they attack a company that they really copied from.

Desperate is exactly right. Samsung just doesn't get it. "We did it first" is not an effective marketing strategy. Apple's "We did it right the first time" unspoken strategy is far more effective.

And besides, Apple has secured themselves as not just a technology company, but as an American cultural icon and status symbol. Samsung (a Korean company) is trying to change that but how could they? They'd have to really think we're stupid.

it's the truth, just realize it Apple has lost it's mojo. What did people say when the first Galaxy Gear came out last year when it ONLY worked with the Note 3? Now Apple Watch comes which ONLY works with the new iPhone 6 and 6 Plus but people are not saying anything about that. Blinded by Apple.

I have tried to explain that to some fandroids. I tell them, "Yes, I think your phone looks good" "Wow, that is really nice looking, so slim" BUT your software sucks so bad, I'd rather go back to playing snake on a NOKIA 6110 before using your OS.

Actually - The new apple watch WILL work with the iPhone 5C, iPhone 5S, iPhone 6, and the iPhone 6+

You're wrong actually. Apple Watch will work with iPhone 5,5c,5s,6,6+

A pretty compelling amount of devices already able to work with it

Yea, sorry. If you're going to bash someone, do your research. The Galaxy Gear only worked with one phone, the Apple Watch will work with 5 different models out of the box, the earliest of which has been out for nearly two years already. So, back to the drawing board for you on trying to mock Apple.

Where do people get that rubbish from?
What a crock and Apple proved it themselves when they moved the whole Mac platform from Motorola to intel. There is no software without hardware. Even with what was thought to be better software, better integration and whatever else the zealots will mention Apple could not get PowerPC to produce the right numbers. Period!

Working with one model (samsung), or working with some past and all current models is a bit different don't ya think?

Wow, they are really getting low. I think Samsung is making the mistake of listening to the 1% nerd fanboys instead of marketing to the 99% consumer market. Here's a couple facts for Samsung:

Fact 1: YOU WERE NOT THE FIRST TO MAKE A 5+ INCH PHONE!! so stop making ads claiming you did! You merely copied someone else on that too!!

Fact 2: Consumers don't care who made the big screen phone first. They care about which phone available now they like the best!

99% of people don't care about this petty fighting. Only 1% of people that are immature tech nerd fanboys care. Samsung needs to spend their marketing dollars more wisely. Maybe then they wouldn't have to spend so much more than Apple.

I can see why Samsung is so nervous though. A minor bump in screen size has been the cornerstone of their phone updates for years. I think every new S model and Note model has had at least some minor screen size increase.

It is the extent of their "innovation". It's what got them customers. Now that Apple decided to make a bigger phone and Samsung owners are trading off their phones in droves they are feeling out! T

hey were already underperforming before. Now they're in real hot water!

I disagree with everyone, back when Samsung first came out with the large screen people on this forum were saying "I don't want a larger screen, the iPhone screen size is perfect" even Steve Jobs was against a larger screen saying how it wasn't a good idea due to use with one hand, yada yada yada. I think Apple realized how well the larger screen phones were doing and jumped the band wagon. Call that innovative if you want but I haven't seen anything new and innovative from Apple (including the Apple Watch) since the iPad.
Who I do give credit to to is Microsoft (flame me now) for packing a full Intel processor with Windows 8 into the tablet sized package of the Surface Pro 3. That machine is gets my jobs done and more.
Next Apple will upgrade the iPad to run OSX and it will be innovative and everyone will agree that Apple changed the world again. LOL
