  • AT&T Announces it Breaks Sales Record With iPhone 6 & iPhone 6 Plus

Earlier in the day, AT&T executive Ralph de la Vega publicly stated to Re/code that Friday morning was a successful pre-launch for the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus and that the demand for the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus has been higher than any other iPhone in AT&T's history – and that's all of them, because AT&T was the first carrier to get the iPhone.

AT&T has also followed through Friday evening with a public press announcement saying that Friday's iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 pre-orders have broken a sales record for the company.

DALLAS, Sept. 12, 2014 — “It was a terrific day for our customers and us. This is our biggest iPhone, pre-order launch day ever,” said Glenn Lurie, president and CEO of AT&T Mobility. “When you combine our best-pricing, the nation’s most reliable 4G LTE network, and a service experience that leads the industry, iPhone customers who choose AT&T win.”
Apple also confirmed this claim earlier today when the company noted that the demand for the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus are higher than any other iPhone in the past. Honestly, it's no surprise; every time Apple releases a new handset, the demand seems to escalate and the end sales numbers seem to multiply.

Before the end of 2014, Apple expects to ship more than 80 million iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus handsets, which would be another record broken by the Cupertino, California-based tech giant if the expectations ever see fruition.

Have you been a part of Friday's iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus pre-orders?

I was about to, but couldn't pull the trigger on the 6 Plus 64GB. In the end, with shipping, taxes and upgrade fee, i'd be paying half a thousand dollars on a phone. I will probably still do it, but i need to build up the nerve to do it.

You just had to keep trying. Everything was showing unavailable for me as well but eventually using my iPad and iPhone to order I was able to get two orders places at about 45mins in.

If you have had an iPhone already, then you have been paying it, just didn't realize it with how much of the cost of the phone was integrated in your monthly phone bill. Now they are making things a little clearer and have separate the phone cost from the contract when you use the AT&T NEXT option. If you have looked at the full price iPhones in the past then that is what you have always been paying.

Same here. Nerves got to me as well and backed out several times. I finally redid our plan and got 2 iPhone 6 plus 64 GB on the AT&T next plans. And it will be an additional $10/month to what we we are paying now. With that, I pulled the trigger.

If that were the case, the iPhone 5c would have been more popular, and it wasn't!

Kind of my point, sorry. But the 6+ is the most expensive phone apple has sold. And everyone bought it so quickly

I definitely wanted the iPhone 6 Plus instead of the iPhone 6 because I was sold on the larger display with the much higher PPI. I like the retina display, but the retina HD display was very alluring.

I think a lot of people went for it to feel a change from what they're used to – a smaller display.

Are you new to iPhones? JK Gotta pay to play!
Seriously though I resell my iPhones and make back the cost. Just sold an old 4S a month ago for $320.

I worked for the big **** company in retail sales for ten years and let me tell you the ONLY people making money on a iphone launch well it's not your sakes rep. Here in chattanooga tennessee for example if your normal goal was to sell 40 handsets to make your 800 dollar commission check for the month not counting all the accessories and wired products you must sell along with that to make you matrix or mix when there is a iphone launch they raise your quota by 350 percent now that's just to make your original 800 dollar check. not much meat on the bone left to make extras to pay for the nicer things in life. With goals like that. And if you don't hit your inflated goals you are going to loose part of that nice sounding 800 dollar commission check that by the way the goverment taxes at 33.5 percent not the normal pay percentage.

So the next time you go in a att store and your nice sales guy or cute sales girl is pushing 70 dollars in accessories or trying to shove low speed internet at you or whatever you are there for dont get mad at the person slaving for a living afraid if they don't meet these numbers they will be fired because they threaten you sometimes daily, complain to upper Managment let them know this type of abuse us uncalled for

Or better yet go online to apple.com buy your iphone from apple. And delete the middle man all together.
