Fresh from the shipment facilities in China, MacRumors reports iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus shipments are already beginning to arrive in U.S. territory. These aircraft shipments are touching ground in Chicago, Illinois and are coming all the way from Zhengzhou Xinzheng, China.

According to the report, this first shipments pallets arriving weigh approximately 93 tons each, and that translates to a whole lot of tightly-packed iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus handsets (more than 700,000 per pallet). Additional pallets will be coming following this first lot.

With pre-orders beginning tomorrow, the shipments couldn't have come at a more convenient time. Before the end of 2014, Apple expects to ship a record-breaking 80 million iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus handsets.
