    , and
  • Let The Countdown (Clock) Begin

In what represents yet another compelling example of the hype Apple is trying to drum up for its media event tomorrow, Apple has splashed all over the home page of its website an official countdown clock ahead of tomorrow's scheduled iPhone 6 and iWatch unveiling.

Although Apple has used on-screen counters before (like the lead-up to a milestone number of app downloads), the usage of a countdown clock on the home page for a media announcement is a rarely used marketing tactic for Apple -- and one that clearly draws attention to the element of time, which may be a subtle reference to the looming arrival of iWatch.

Apple has already confirmed that a live stream of the media announcement will be available on the Apple website. Live streaming video requires Safari 5.1.10 or later on OS X v10.6.8 or later; Safari on iOS 6.0 or later. Streaming via Apple TV requires second- or third-generation Apple TV with software 6.2 or later.

Guess they eff'd it up earlier in the week...got online at 25 minutes to 1 and the clock said 25 min's until the event. Through me for a minute. LOL!

      Refreshed and it was correct.
