  • Apple Releases OS X Yosemite Public Beta 2 and iTunes 12 Update

On Thursday, Apple launched OS X Yosemite Public Beta 2 to the public. Apple started with the first public beta of Yosemite, which was limited to the first 1 million users registered with the public beta program, just a couple of months ago.

OS X Yosemite is currently on Developer Preview 6 on the developer channel, so the public beta update likely addresses many of the bug fixes that have been implemented in the most recent Developer Previews. The new operating system is still intended to hit the public in its final form some time in the Fall of this year and will be a free upgrade for Mac users.

OS X Yosemite Public Beta 2 is recommended for all of those running the first public beta, as it will address several bugs and improve on the features in the operating system since the first public beta. With that being said, performance and stability improvements will be noticeable.

Apple has also launched an updated version of iTunes 12 alongside the public beta of OS X Yosemite to go along with it. Both updates can be had by OS X Yosemite Public Beta 1 users from the Updates tab in the Mac App Store or by going to the  menu in the Menu Bar and selecting "Software Update."
