  • Google Releases New Photo Sphere App on iOS Platform for Taking 360 Photographs

On Tuesday, Google launched its Photo Sphere application on the iOS platform, an photography application that has been available on Android devices for some time. What sets this application apart from what you might be used to using is that it lets you take 360 photographs.

Yep, you heard that right. 360 photographs; that's even more surface area than Apple's panoramic photograph feature, which is included in the iOS 7 Camera application.

With this application, you'll be able to take a photo of everything around you, side to side, even up and down, and share it with the world. Your Photo Sphere photographs can even be added to Google Maps for others to see. It's great for those that like taking creative photographs of awesome places so that other people can get a good idea of what's there.

Photos can also be shared on your favorite social networks, like Facebook, Twitter, Google+, and even shared by e-mail.

Because of the capabilities of certain devices, Google notes in the application description that the iPhone 4 is not supported. This application requires an iPhone 4s or newer.

If you want to give Photo Sphere a try, it's available for free right now in the iOS App Store at this link.
