  • Dr. Dre Takes On Tim Cook's ALS Ice Bucket Challenge

We reported just a few days ago Apple CEO, Tim Cook, accepting the popular ALS Ice Bucket Challenge as a way to spread awareness and donate. In return, Cook nominated Dr. Dre, Bob Iger, and Michael Franti. Dr. Dre (or also known as Andre Young) happily accepted the challenge when he was on set for his “Straight Outta Compton” movie. The recording was posted on the Beats by Dre YouTube channel with director Gary Gray giving a hand.

In the video, we see Dr. Dre sitting in a chair waiting for the ice cold water bucket to pour on him. Dre’s challenge tactic was very similar to that of Bill Gates’, however, Gary Gray did the honors and Bill Gates dumped it on his own. In return, Dre nominated rappers Eminem, Snoop Dogg, and Kendrick Lamar to step up to the challenge. Dr. Dre marks the third Apple executive to douse himself in ice water- the list includes marketing chief Phil Schiller and CEO Tim Cook.
