  • Job Listings in United Arab Emirates Indicate Apple Store to Open in the Middle East

Apple recently posted retail job listings for an upcoming store set to be located in the United Arab Emirates. The listings indicate that the company may soon be opening its first store in the Middle East. The job postings, which were initially spotted by ifoAppleStore, show typical openings calling for Specialists, Creatives, and Experts as well as managerial positions for Store Leaders and Market Leaders. As of right now, no store opening date has been revealed but it is being speculated that it is already under construction. Based on the hiring schedules, it appears that that the store may be opening sometime around February 2015.

For those of you who didn’t know, Apple CEO Tim Cook visited the UAE earlier this year where he posed for various Apple resellers and met with the UAE Prime Minister Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. Although we don’t know what the reason for his visit was, it’s quite possible that Cook may have been meeting with officials regarding the possibility of an Apple Retail Store in the region. It wouldn’t be too surprising if this turned out to be true since a previous rumor mentioned the opening of a flagship store at The Galleria in Sowwah Square in Abu Dhabi, a luxury mall which opened just last year. It was mentioned that the store wouldn’t open for years but once it did, it would be Apple’s largest Apple Store ever.

We’ll have to wait and see if the speculation turns out to be true once more concrete evidence is revealed.
