  • Facebook Will Now Be Launching Updates to its iOS App Every Four Weeks

Facebook released an update for its iOS application on Friday that will set the starting line for a new line of updates for the application that Facebook plans to release every four weeks.

Version 13.0 is available in the App Store right now and includes speed improvements and stability improvements for the overall benefit of users.

Every four weeks, from this day forward, Facebook promises to bring a number of improvements to reliability and speed, but that's not the half of it. Facebook also notes that these monthly updates will comprise of new features, and will be highlighted from within the application itself when the application is updated.

Facebook recommends that users running iOS 7.0 or later activate the "Automatic Downloads" feature for updating applications so that Facebook can update automatically in the background.

Since Facebook has been rolling out the removal of Facebook Messenger functionality from the all-in-one Facebook application and forcing users to begin using the standalone Facebook Messenger application, users may want to be weary of this choice and continue to update manually just so that they can see what's going to be new in any Facebook updates before there's no turning back.

Existing users can update to version 13.0 of the Facebook application from the Updates tab in the App Store application. Alternatively, you can download the latest version of Facebook for free from the iOS App Store from this App Store link.
