  • Leaked Image of Possible New Instagram App Called ‘Bolt’

The Verge recently released some pictures on a new photo-sharing app called “Bolt,” which Instagram is supposedly working on. It was reported that Instagram may have linked to the unreleased app accidentally. The picture is apparently from an Android device, and was from an advertisement from within the Instagram app. Some users shared screenshots of the notification when they noticed it onto Twitter. Other users can actually view the link of the app, which is shown much earlier than the intended official launch date.

Not much detail or information has been released on the new app. However, the only thing that can be inquired is that ‘Bolt’ will be a single tap photo messaging application. It can be assumed due to this description that it may or may not be similar to popular app Snapchat. However, others have been saying that this may only be Instagram’s way of testing "app install ads,” therefore, it may be a fake app. ‘Bolt’ is not currently available in Apple’s App Store or Android’s Google Play Store yet. And Instagram also has yet to comment on the leaked photos.
