  • Apple Campus 2 Aerial Photo Released on Twitter

New aerial pictures of Apple’s Campus 2 headquarters in Cupertino have been published recently. KCBS traffic reporter Ron Cervi posted the new photos onto Twitter and Instagram. It was only last month that the campus started taking some shape and the new photos show the dramatic progress going on. Just after a month since Cervi’s first aerial pictures of the Apple Campus 2, it is noticeable that the crews have already made majority of the basic substructure.

The ‘underground tunnels’ Cervi refers to, have massive troughs bigger than vehicles and equipment nearby. This shows that the features will be built for below-grade floors. Underground parking is also planned for the Apple Campus 2 but it seems as if there has yet to be any accommodations made for this currently. The company received final approval of this project in November of 2013, and has since been working on construction. Previous Apple CEO, Steve Jobs, had announced this project back in 2011 but was delayed 2 years. Current CEO Tim Cook has already said that they plan on moving into the ‘spaceship’ sometime in 2016, however, it is unclear as to how far construction would have gone by then.
