  • Hungarian Designer Creates the Sleekest iWatch Concept We've Seen So Far

There has been a lot of buzz surrounding rumors of Apple’s iWatch and since then we have seen a variety of iWatch concepts. However, many of the concepts have hardly had any resemblance to a watch and instead look more like fitness bands.

A freelance designer from Hungary by the name of Gábor Balogh has recently created a smartwatch concept that many hopes to resemble the actual iWatch. The design of the watch looks more like a traditional watch that includes many smart features. Balogh has stated that the goal of his design is to have a smartwatch that keeps traditional values and quality, can be easily paired with a smartphone, has smudge-free handling, and includes carefully selected functions.

The design of the watch is essentially Swedish watchmaker Triwa Havana’s timepiece, but with a replacement of a circular display face. Balogh created mockups to show the user interface for a variety of apps including (but not limited to) Music player, Calendar, Maps, and weather.

Below are some pictures of the mockups, take a look at them and share your comments below!

While i find it more attractive than any of the others ive seen to date, I still feel like the concept went from Star Trek to **** Tracey in the blink of an eye.

Yeah, it looks cool, but the buttons serve no discernible purpose.

Idiotic. A wearable device isn't a watch and shouldn't look like one.

If this is what it looked like I would buy it in a heart beat.

Sorry MMi, these are not iWatch concepts. These are smartwatch concepts.
The world doesn't revolve around the non-existent iWatch.

Wow, so you can use photoshop.
They might look good but that will never be a real thing.

Anyone think, this was just Apple having a laugh, and trying to provoke Samsung into copying a product before it was released.

I have grave doubts that Apple were ever going to produce a watch

...love the looks of the concept iwatch, but how much the functionality would serve i dunno, also how big wold the face be??? doesn't look like my big fingers would have an easy time navigating the face of this device, come to think of it, i assume this would be unisex??? or would they make men's and women's size??..probably over-thinking this. Love the pulse rate thing, I wonder if the could collaborate it with some sort of alert if there to large a change in the rate (up or down). This concept is the nicest one yet.

I always had that feeling. too bad samsung feel straight for it. ****** up half-cooked piece of smart gear. A friend who works for a tech company is a huge fan of Samsung. He bought it and exchanged it within a couple of weeks of buying.
This is what happens when you blindly follow the leader.

An iwatch would be the most useless piece of gear apple would ever produce if they are planning one. Some issues that i can rant right away.
      1) Screen would be too small except for notifications to be displayed.
      2) Who in the world charges a watch every 24 hours (unless its kinetic powered or solar powered).
      3) iPhones and iPads are something you'd want to show-off. No body notices a watch anyways (half the time its covered by the sleeve of our shirt.
      4) Scrolling on the watch would be weird if given too much functionality (and would guaranteed ruin your eyesight)
      5) The watch is a personal statement. I love thick, chrome plated heavy watches, whereas my brother likes those plastici digital ones. Having one type of watch makes no sense. Same goes for round, square and long dials - every wrist needs a different watch.

      what more?

It isn't meant for much more than notifications. My problem with it is that it would most likely cost over $100, and that would be completely unjustified.
