  • iOS App Developers Are Seriously Sleep Deprived

Are you an iOS app developer? If so, you may be seriously sleep deprived.

According to a new report from NativeMobile, developers of mobile apps for iOS as well as Android are among the most sleep deprived professionals in the world.

Citing data from recent studies out of Europe, report author Randy Dahlke says app developers are among the world’s most creative professionals, and "creative people just don’t sleep very well."

Since mobile app developers are often self-employed (and many fully support themselves and their families by monetizing their apps), the creative minds behind some of our favorite Android and iOS apps are chronically and even dangerously sleep deprived.
So what should an app developer in need of some serious shuteye do to catch his or her 40 winks? Well, as it turns out, there's an app for that (ironic, we know).

"Having earned national coverage from prominent media outlets like NBC’s TODAY, CBS News, and ESPN, Sleep Genius has been credited with altering the landscape of modern mobile sleep apps as we’ve come to know them," the report reads, citing case studies and app reviews - including some from app developers - that call Sleep Genius "life changing."

So how many hours does the average app developer sleep on a nightly basis? Based on the survey results at hand, only 6 hours - an unhealthy amount of sleep that experts say could lead to depression (and you thought a lack of paid downloads was the reason for your blues!).

You don't need an app to be able to sleep... Just close your freaking eyes and don't move for 10 minutes...Seriously how can an application help you sleep. Seriously waste of an article

But the thing is, when writing code you can literally get lost in time. Hours pass by like seconds and you can just run off into the night and not feel tired at all.

Waste of an article?? Don't be ridiculous... Just because you can sleep on command doesn't mean other people can. I can do 3 backflips in 3 seconds can you? Maybe I shouldn't write an article about it because it'll be a waste
