  • Data Reveals 78% of iOS Devices are Now Running iOS 7

For those of you who didnít know, iOS 7 adoption is currently stealing 1% away from iOS 6 on a weekly basis. This is according to Apple who has just updated their iOS adoption figures, presenting the data on its developersí support page. Apple first reported iOS 7 numbers based on App Store usage on December 1, when 74% of users were on iOS 7, compared to 22% on iOS 6, and 4% on earlier versions.

This number currently stands at 78%, with iOS 6 falling to just 18%. The figure was taken from data measured by the App Store during a 7-day period, ending December 29, 2013. This is obviously great news for the Cupertino California company, who has been trying to push iOS 7 adoption rate since its September launch. Apple even went as far as saying that all app submissions must be optimized for the OS by February 1, 2014.

The numbers also demonstrate a massive contrast to Google, whose latest Android version, Kitkat, is running on around 1.1% of all devices.

Would be 100% if apple were not tight fisted over older phones not getting the update , still find 78% abit high or dont apple count the iphone 3 or 3g as an iphone as there are loads out there still being used

Wonder how much of a jump they saw when the iOS 7 jailbreak was released.

you have a lot to thank to Jailbreak iOS 7
everyone jumped on who were reluctant to get on board....

although the jailbreak doesn't come through to hail expectations- it deserves to be recognized as one of the reasons iOS was updated
