  • Apple Releases Fix for Unresponsive Keyboard and Trackpad on Some 2013 MacBook Pros

In October, Apple recognized an issue with the all-new 2013 MacBook Pro with retina display that could cause the keyboard and multi-touch track pad to become unresponsive, and promised that a fix was in the works and would be released to address the issue soon.

On Thursday, Apple has finally come forward with a fix for this issue. The new software update from Apple is available from the Mac App Store under the Updates tab, or by clicking on the  Menu in the Menu Bar and selecting Software Update.

The update is an update to the EFI (version 1.3) and will require a restart through the duration of the install. With that being said, you should save all of your progress before installing the update to prevent data loss.

You will need your power cord plugged into your MacBook Pro to install the update.

How about for the mid-2012 Macs that have this same issue?

I wasn't aware of an issue like this on the 2012 Macs. Let Apple know through a bug report?
