  • Apple Kicks Off Back to School with $7 and $8 Albums

Apple is noting the return of the school year by marketing discounted music to both kids and their parents this year. Customers are now able to get popular albums for as low as $7 or $8. Many U.S. iTunes customers have begun receiving emails touting some of this yearís most popular albums being discounted from September 2 through September 5.

The email mentions ten albums including titles from Lana Del Ray, Sara Bareilles, Pink, Robin Thicke, The Lumineers, Justin Timberlake and Imagine Dragons. Beyond those titles, Apple is offering a much wider range of titles for just a dollar more in a parallel back to school sale.

For $8, customers can download any of 69 titles. Among those are the most recent albums from artists such as Kendrick Lamar, Alicia Keys, and Taylor Swift. Also included are older classics from artists such as the Beastie Boys and older material from Kanye West and Justin Beiber.

This iTunes back to school promotion isnít the only one that Apple has launched recently. On its online store, Apple began offering gift cards of $50 or $100 with the qualified purchase of a Mac, iPad, or iPhone Ė a promotion that will run through September 6.

Have any of you taken advantage of any of the promotions?

MMi could probably get sued for saying "$7 or $8" because those aren't the actual prices.
