So you've got an iPhone. What now? This guide will be the current state of affairs for iPhone modding.

If you're using Mac OS X, this guide is the only one you need at the moment for upgrading, unlocking, jailbreaking and activating Firmware 2.x!

If you are on Windows you can use QuickPwn to Jailbreak your iPhone 3G and Unlock and Jailbreak your iPhone (1st Gen).

Another useful guide for beginners is iSeminar. It is aimed at iPhone and iPod touch users with absolutely no hacking experience. It includes a vocabulary section, help with PwnageTool and QuickPwn, plus some handy information (eg. 'How To Get Into DFU Mode') and links.
