This unlock is done completely on your iPhone. No computer needed. *Before You Start* -You MUST have the simcard you are planning on using already inserted into the phone. - You must be on 2.2 firmware. 2.2 iPhone 3G Firmware 5F136 Build Also, you must have a baseband/modem firmware of 02.28.00. To check your firmware and baseband, go to Settings>General>About on your iPhone.

Launch Cydia from your springboard.
Let Cydia update its current sources, then press the Manage tab at the bottom of the screen.
Press the Sources button.
Press the Edit button at the top right of the screen.
Press the Add button at the top left of the screen.
Enter http://apt9.yellowsn0w.com in the space, then press the Add Source button.
Let Cydia add and update the source, then press the Return to Cydia button at the bottom of the screen.
Press the Done button in the top right of the screen.
Press your newly added source in the Entered by User category.
Press the yellowsn0w package.
Press the Install button in the top right of the screen.
Press the Confirm button in the top right of the screen.
Once the installation is complete, press the Return to Cydia button at the bottom of the screen.
Press the Home button to return to the springboard. *Note* Installing yellowsn0w will not create an icon!
Reboot your phone with your new SIM card already inserted. Once you reboot, wait 10-15 seconds for the new SIM to respond. You also may need to turn "3G Service" OFF and flip through Airplane Mode a few times.
