Prima Crystal Lucite Case
Today we are reviewing the Prima crystal case (part #PC-IPHLUC). This crystal case has locking clasps around all sides so it's one of those cases you won't be complaining about flying open while you are using it. Once it closes, it's closed. All the access holes are in the right spot and beveled out for a smooth edge.
So who the heck is Prima? From their site: "Prima Cases represent the latest in advance case and design technology from The Colemax Group. As part of The Colemax Group, Prima Cases utilizes the expertise of over 25 years of carrying case manufacturing experience that Colemax has been providing to major corporations and OEM's throughout the world. Remember the original Palm III Case???…..that was a Colemax Creation. Palm V and Palm VII……also Colemax. How about all the cases carried by CBS SPORTS field teams and executives? Yes…Colemax too! Rugged Cases for HP and Dell Programs……you guessed it!"
My only issue with clear cases is that they press against the phone making an odd outline in some places. Short of that, I have no room for complaint.
The Prima Crystal Lucite case is sturdy and stays together without issue unlike some of its competitors in the same price range. If you are the type that likes a clear case, this one is definitely a great value at the $15 price point complete very strong locking sides that will not pop open on you. The top is mindful of the prox sensors and again beveled to allow a smooth and refined edge. If you are looking for a clear case you might just want to check out Prima's Crystal case with its low price point and excellent protection.

Apple, iPhone and iPod Accessory Reviews

looks tempting!
I would never buy ones of those, even if it dosent open when it falls, it will still take impact to the phone, the vibration transfers to the case directly to the phone, there is no absorption, not only that, you can also can pits of dust rocks and food stuck inside the case, and since its a hardshell case, it will press and grind against the phone and leave scratch marks and dents everywhere, last time im buying an acrylic case, even if it has some locks…
ultimate – i have had the same experience. i bought a case that was hard like this but still semi-bendable.. the Griffin Wave. It's a great case and offers great protection, but I went hiking days after I bought my 3GS, didn't even have the phone out of my pocket, and still a couple dust-sized pebbles got in there and scratched my brand new phone to shit.
I've found the only way to have the protection of a hard case without getting your phone scratched is to use a ZAGG invisibleShield or similar skin, AS WELL as a hard case. Did this on my current phone and it's still in pristine shape
theres alot of those case in ebay and also they cost $2.99, the issues i had on it, is that the dirt get in side the case and it damages or scratches the back of the phone, especially if you have a black iphone, also it leaves a mark
it sucks dont buy it……it gets dirty and it has no shock absorbtion
i've had a similar case as well. One good drop and the clasps become irreliable.
i bought a case almost identical to this one at the local Dollar Tree store for a dollar and some change…works great for my daughters phone actually when we went to take it off i had to get my brother-in-law to do it (very secure) and he had a hard time.
Had one similar to that and when i dropped the phone it busted open and scratched the iphone.
There is absolutely no point to what you can buy at a dollar tree or what LOOKS like this, the review is on THIS product and it is not related to the crap anyone is buying anywhere else. If people look at two red cases or two blue cases and only see two blue cases or two red cases then perhaps this product is not for you, but no reason in being ignorant to the fact that Prima has designed this case to have a secure locking system and be a cut above the other clear cases on the market. RESPECT.
my rubber one from iSkin.com has been pretty good…. I did one of those "put it on my lap while im driving, and then forget its there and get out the car and it goes sliding across the parking lot" gigs. and since it has some pretty hefty rubber on it, it didn't even phase my 3GS at all…
I got one of these and they are good cases but they do get dirt in them easily so you need to keep opening it every few days and clean it to keep it looking good.
When you drop it, it breaks open but doesn't kill the phone.
So its a good case, but not as good as my 2g iphone case which is half rubber and half hard.
