NEW Reviews/Guides Sections

We're proud to announce a couple new sections of the site here at

First off Reviews. We have built a new place to house the latest Apple & iPhone related reviews located at This is where all future reviews and reviews+giveaways will be located. To start things off we will be posting one new accessory review every day for the next month or so thanks to product samples from Altec Lansing, Aquapac, be.ez, GelaSkins, H2O Audio, Otterbox, Prima Cases, RichardSolo, Scosche, Sena Cases, Ten One Design, Vuzix, and Zagg.

You can check out the daily reviews by visiting the homepage, grabbing our news RSS feed, grabbing our reviews RSS feed, or visiting the new reviews section! It is linked to the rest of the site so if you're logged into the forums you can post comments in the reviews!

Also -ALMOST live is a new guides section (should be by Monday)! Our old guides section was getting a bit outdated and it was never easy to navigate. The new guides section isn't 100% complete yet but there are tons of guides present. We'll be finishing it up over the next few days! Just like the new reviews section newly created guides will show up on the homepage.
This Month's Jailbreaks and Unlocks
Apples been up to its usual tricks with the latest 3.1.2 firmware release. The dev team released PwnageTool 3.1.4 which creates custom pwn'd firmware files with all the jailbroken goodness while keeping your old baseband and remain unlocked.

If you jumped the gun and upgraded past 3.0 firmware via Apple's update system there is still hope for an unlock. blacksn0w is on its way and will provide an unlock for those who have upgraded or restored to firmware 3.1.2!

If you don't care about an unlock and just want to jailbreak 3.1.2 use PwnageTool 3.1.2 or blackra1n.
New Apple Products
Apple has been busy maintaining consistent product upgrade releases and put out some new stuff this month. They released a new iMac line coming in 21.5" and 27" flavors with some great looking LED backlit displays and more power+speed. The Mac mini was treated to some upgrades as well with memory, processor, graphics, and wireless upgrades. My personal favorite is Apple's new Magic Mouse. Advertised as the worlds first multi-touch mouse this thing is extremely sleek looking and includes laser tracking instead of that crappy optical tracking Apple has been using for years.
In-App Purchases in Free Apps
Has Apple solved the problem of try before you buy on the AppStore yet? No. They have opened up their stringent rules a bit to allow developers the opportunity. The AppStore is littered with "Lite" versions of apps so you an try things out. If you like it you can then venture back into the AppStore and purchase the full version. Now developers have the option of selling App upgrades within the free app so you can quickly upgrade to the full version from within the App itself. This move by Apple is most likely a response to app cracking making things a bit more difficult for pirates.
FM Radio coming to iPhone
Apple is working on bringing FM radio functionality to the iPhone via an App. If you're own music library isn't enough soon you will be able to jam to your favorite local radio station straight from your iPhone. The holdup? Apple is most likely working on integrating the concept with their so that you have the option of purchasing the song being play through the radio.
