What the hell do I do ?!
Hello all,
OK - well I have had my iPhone since October and it was on 1.0.2 . I unlocked using the iUnlock method. However, my iPhone is still on 1.0.2 and I really want to upgrade. My iPhone is currently activated, unlocked and jailbroken. Do I have to virginize and then restore to 1.1.4 . Or can I just put the iPhone to restore mode (HOME and SLEEP button for 25 secs), and restore via iTunes.
Please help, I'm not very clever at this and I don't to screw up my iPhone. Any help is greatly appreciated, thank you!

I'd change everything back to "STOCK" before restoring/updating.
Hi,
Before you do anything, I'd suggest that you return all your settings back to the "backup" or "stock" settings because even after you restore, there are certain things I noticed that seems to stay even after restoring. For instance, MIM.......when I was having problems with my screen not responding, I decided to restore to its original state by "restoring" thru iTunes......so I could take it back to the Apple Store for a looky. Well, restored and noticed that my name was still showing where the AT&T logo was suppose to be....and of course, I freaked.
Anyway, safer to put everything back to original state first then restore or upgrade. And then maybe sync and restore thru iTunes before upgrading.
Hope this helps.
Don't be shy, it's ok to hit that THANKS button.

dude,
dock in itunes, click restore (you will be prompted to back up your iphone)
restore to 1.1.4, then CLOSE ITUNES
download ziphone from his website (google it)
on the advanced tab run jailbreak and activate.
once thats complete run unlock and you should then be able to open itunes and restore your settings to your phone.
I did this 2 days ago so I know it works.
good luck.iPhone 3G Jail broken 4.2.1 - redsn0w
