ok let me get this straight
for some stupid reason, i convinced my self to downgrade my newly bought 2.0.1 jailbreaked iphone to 1.1.4.
in the process of doing this i got to 1.1.4 BUT bluetooth seems to screw around and i get no ring tone! (call me it only vibrates).
so i was thinking that something might have gone wrong during the process and it should fix it if i do it again.
so my question is, is it OK for me to restore the phone to 2.0.2 to get it back to "normal" and then restore it again to 1.1.4 firmware and jailbreak it? cmon people help me with this!
OT: i used a 7.5 version of itunes btw as per recommended from this forum

when you roll back to 1.1.x from 2.x you'll need to roll your baseband firmware back also... when I rolled back from 2.0 to 1.1.4 I used "kiphone" (a patched version of ziphone) to get my baseband fw back to 4.05.04_G and then my phone worked again normally with 1.1.4 fw...
here's a small tutorial which helped me: iClarified - iPhone - How to Downgrade Your Baseband Using KiPhone
this might help you avoid having to go up and back down again..

thanks for your input i did use kiphone to downgrade my baseband thus the phone worked with a non att carrier BUT the only problem is my ringtone is f*cked up and cant get it to work no matter what tweak i do.
my only question is is it is safe to update to 2.0.2 then use a "shift-click" restore to 1.1.4 and then jailbreak it?

I think so! you might also just try restoring with the 1.1.4 fw restore image, rather than going to 2.0.2 and back down.. restoring with 1.1.4 should rebuild all the files and such. but if you do want to go forward, you can always roll back.. you just need to make sure you kiphone it for the baseband... which you know how to do

I actually used kiphone when I got back to 1.1.4 rather than pwning the device.. but ymmv. regardless of that, this guide should work!
