2 Phones with 1 IMEI?

I am an AT&T customer for about 6 years now. I own a 1st gen iphone, and i just bought an AT&T tilt(it was actually the annual upgrade phone for $99). My question is i am wanting to do that IMEI switch to get the MMS to work on the iphone. This one:http://www.modmyi.com/forums/t/18530...working-t.html
But i also want to be able to use the tilt. So if i put the IMEI from the tilt on my iphone, and change the data plan to the tilt plan instead of the iphone data one. Will i be able to just switch the sim card out and use which ever phone i want. Just not use them at the same time(which would be impossible). Please inform me if you know. Thanks, Jared

Two phones with the same IMEI cannot be registered on the same network at the same time but if you swap your SIM back and forth you'll be ok.

Thanks for the info. Also there is no way they can tell i am doing this right?
