Went back to 7.5 and did a DFU restore to 1.1.4, gets past Preparing your iPhone then I get error 1604!

Now it's stuck in recovery mode, I can put it in DFU fine but can't get any further.

I had done the ziphone 1.1.4 jailbreak when it first came out. I had to fix my mail and camera afterwards.

Today I upgraded to the 2.0 firmware and everything works EXCEPT my camera. It doesn't save pictures. I did a restore and then restored my pics/contacts. I'm going to try another restore but this time as a new phone and see if that fixes it. Otherwise I'll either wait to be able to jailbreak this one or just take it to the store and tell them its fubar lol

I found this to get back to 1.1.4, iPhone News & Review » 2.0 to 1.1.4 Downgrade, but now it won't recognize my sim. This one is pretty bad.

You know.. It's not that tough really. You have to just accept the fact that an upgrade to 2.0 will wipe your phone. No jailbreak, no installer, no contacts/call history/sms convos...

If you choose the "restore from backup" option, iTunes loads back in your /var/mobile/library directory from your 1.1.4 jailbroken firmware. That's where things start to screw up. iPhone 2.0 doesnt expect to see folders like "installer cache" or "swirly MMS" so it goes a little wacko.

Restoring to firmware 2.0 THE RIGHT WAY by choosing the "setup as new iPhone" option, will give you a new, clean, fully restored, firmware 2.0 iPhone.

If you aren't willing to re-enter all your contacts (or sync them from an address book), and spend some time setting up your options on 2.0, dont upgrade.

If i have firmware 1.1.4 jailbroke with ziphone, is it legit to update to 2.0 since its not unlocked? Just making sure so i dont get myself all screwed over. Thanks!

yeah im the same 1.1.4 jailbreak with ziphone and itunes 7.7 Im on the o2 contract and my phones not unlocked. itunes downloaded v2.0 and is asking me to install it.
Question is do i click yes?
will i have all my data still like contacts, texts and a working 2.0?
i don't really care about installer right now i want to check out 2.0

sorry im a newbie,but here's my question...im running 1.1.4 and its jailbroken with ziphone. its NOT unlocked. if i upgrade to 2.0 will everything, such as installer, customize and all my other 3rd party apps be erased?? thanks for the help.

i upgraded and then tryed to unlock..... obviously it didnt work....
so i tryed to downgrade to 1.1.4 and now i dont have the carrier tab in my settings.... and cant call txt or anything!!!

can some1 help!!!!

I unlocked and jailbreaked my phone to 1.1.4 using ziphone...I have ATT but unlocked it anyways for overseas use...if I upgrade to 2.0...will there be any trouble with exception of losing all 3rd party programs and it being locked again? I want to upgrade to the 2.0, but scared to fearing complications. Any help please. THANK YOU !!!

Why Do you want to upgrade to 2.0 anyway? 1.1.4 is just great Jailbroken. Free apps with the installer SSH enabled so you poke around in the phone, change icons add ringtones and stuff.

Yes there will be complications if you upgrade. The best and only way is to use Restore and create a new phone. Bye Bye all the data texts contacts Apps etc. If you just upgrade You gonna get loads of issues as said in a previous post the jailbroken phones are going to have directories that the new firmware is not going to recognise.

Just leave it at 1.1.4. Who cares about about Microsoft Exchange Server - mobile me and a crap calculator and buying apps when there are far better apps using the Installer that are free. No Summerboard or Customize. I'm sticking with 1.1.4 Jailbroken and unlocked and I'm gonna wait for the Jailbreak on 2.0.

I'm one who wants this Microsoft Exchange... but I also want the 3rd Party apps... it might not work for some but it works for me.
