[1.1.4 OTB] Cannot eliminate ZiPhone!

Hi Everybody:
I got a refurb 1.1.4 OTB iPhone a couple of months ago, unlocked it with ZiPhone all was great. Then one great day it started freezing like crazy. Restored it in iTunes (both in DFU mode and regular, after refurbishing with iLiberty) and yet the iPhone is still unlocked (it recognizes my non AT&T cell carrier at the activation screen).
I tried everything; including instructions here at the forum to restore to 1.1.2 then to 1.1.4 twice, but it still comes off unlocked after restores.
Any ideas on how to completely bring my iPhone to factory state, completely eliminate Zibree (and hopefully these crashes) so I can unlock/jailbreak this baby some other way? Thanks so much!
