I'm pretty new to most of this...

I'm trying to change the lock screen slider on my ipod touch 4.2.1 using ssh from cyberduck. i've read what i could find on the subject but every time i get the .png into winterboard and check the theme it doesn't show up.

Most of the forums are specific to different devices or they are years old so i'm at the end...please help!
